Venn Diagrams - Verbal Reasoning Questions and Answers.

Questions related to Venn Diagrams are asked in various competitive examinations conducted by SSC, UPSC, PSC, LIC, GIC, Railways, IBPS, etc. The main objective of these questions is to test the candidate's ability to identify the relationship between some items displayed in Venn Diagrams. Out of the given figures candidates has to choose the figure which best represents the relationship among them.

TIPS FOR SOLVING QUESTIONS RELATED TO VENN DIAGRAMS:



TIPS 1:

If all the items given in the question belong to different group then it will be shown by diagram as given below-

Man, Elephant, Tree

Explanation: Man, Elephant and Tree belongs to different group, there is no relationship between them. Hence, all three are represented by three different circles.

TIPS 2:

If the first item is related to the second item and the second item is related to the third item, then all three items will be shown by diagram as shown below-

Sailor, Ship, Ocean

Explanation: A Ship sails in the Ocean, in the same way a Sailor sails in the Ocean in Ship.

TIPS 3:

If two different items are completely related to third item, then they will be shown by diagram as given below-

Elephant, Cow, Mammal

Explanation: Elephant and Cow are different from each other but both are mammal.

TIPS 4:

If there is some relationship between two items and these two items are completely related to the third items, then they will be shown by diagram as given below-

Cats, Pet animals, Animals

Explanation: Some Cats are Pet animals and vice-versa, and some Cats may not be Pet animals and vice-versa. But all Cats and Pet animals belong to Animals group.

TIPS 5:

If two items are completely different from each other but are related to some extent but not completely to a third item, then they will be shown by diagram as given below-

Men, Women, Doctors

Explanation: Both Men and Women are different to each other but some Men as well as some Women may be doctors.

TIPS 6:

If all the three items are related to each other to some extent but not completely, then they will be shown by diagram as given below-

Men, Professors, Engineers

Explanation: Some Professors may be Men and vice-versa, some Engineers may be Men and vice-versa, some Professors may be Engineers and vice- versa.

TIPS 7:

If the two items are completely related to each other and the third item is entirely different from the other two items, then they will be shown by diagram as given below-

Ocean, Earth, Sun

Explanation: Ocean is a part of Earth but Sun is entirely different from these two.

TIPS 8:

If the first item is related to the second item completely and the third item is related to first and second item to some extent, then they will be shown by diagram as given below-

Men, Fathers, Doctors

Explanation: All Fathers are Men. Some Men and some Fathers may be Doctors.
